International markets

BioGro certification is internationally recognised and accredited. This means with BioGro certification, New Zealand producers can access international markets and tap into the growing consumer demand for organic produce. BioGro assists producers to meet international organic regulations in key export markets including Europe, Canada, the US and parts of Asia.

Producers certified under BioGro's International Programme can export products into the following overseas markets:

IFOAM is the official umbrella organisation for the worldwide organic agricultural movement.  

MPI Official Organic Assurance Programme for exports to Europe, Switzerland, the US, Japan and Taiwan from New Zealand.

Japanese Agricultural Standard (JAS) for exports to Japan.

Pacific Organic Standard (POS) for exports to the Pacific Islands.

Canadian Organic Regime (COR) for exports to Canada.

Canada Organic Equivalency Agreement for exports to the USA.

USDA Organic Regulations for exports to the U.S.

Soil Association Certification Accepted Product for exports to the United Kingdom.

EU third country recognition programme from outside of New Zealand.

Doalnara Certified Organic Korea (DCOK) - for exports to South Korea

Konkuk Ecocert Certification Service - for exports to South Korea


IOAS - Covering Canada Organic Regime, Natrue and IFOAM

MPI - Covering the Official Organic Assurance Programme (OOAP) - includes the EU, Switzerland and Taiwan. The U.S. if certified to the NOP and JAS exports to Japan

EU Third Party Producers

BioGro third-party producers are growers, producers and licensees operating in countries outside of New Zealand who are certified to the organic regulations of the European Commission (EU).
