BioAg Soil Health Field Day & Workshop

  • Pukehiki District Hall, Highcliff Rd Pukehiki, Dunedin New Zealand (map)

The BioAg field day and soil health workshop is an opportunity to get up close to the functional workings of the soil upon which all farming enterprises – big or small depend on. A large area of land throughout New Zealand is occupied by so called lifestylers. These smaller blocks can be very productive and contribute to local communities providing a healthy local environment while also doing their bit for carbon sequestration.

Soil health and biological function sets the basis for nutrition and health throughout the food chain, influences crop and animal yields as well as economic and environmental performance. While the workshop is being targeted to small block holders the information being shared is applicable to all farming.

  • Discover the methods & benefits of biological soil fertility management
  • Learn about soil health & function for quality pastures, stock and cash crops
  • Interactive Soil Health Workshop with agro-ecologist Nicole Masters from Integrity Soils
  • Bring your GUMBOOTS – we will be digging a soil profile for demonstration. A short walk from the hall to Lynn Samuels property along Camp Rd.
