BioGro has recently successfully completed our JAS (Japanese Agricultural Standard) accreditation renewal.
Every five years BioGro is required to renew our JAS accreditation, which includes completing an accreditation application and following up with any non-compliances. A successful on-site audit also takes place annually over three days by two Japanese auditors.
BioGro is accredited and registered by several regulatory authorities to carry out organic certification. JAS is one of nine authorities that annually audit our certification processes and operation systems against their requirements.
This reassures them (and us) that we are doing our job properly and BioGro licensees are receiving compliant services. It is essential for BioGro and our licensees that we continue to maintain market access around the world.
Just like BioGro licensees, these nine accreditations involve a significant amount of paperwork as well as on-site audits. Gaining and maintaining accreditations is one of our most important priorities. Accreditations provide access for BioGro certified organic producers, processors and exporters into all major international markets.
If you have any questions related to our accreditation requirements, please feel free to contact us.
