Jersey Girl Organics was founded in 2014 . They produce A2, organic jersey milk that is bottled on site before being delivered across the country.

Jersey Girl Organics exists to deliver the highest quality organic, A2 jersey milk with the lowest possible environmental impact across their entire supply chain. Their milk is minimally processed, ensuring that what ends up on your table is as close as possible to what their ‘girls’ give them.

For over 100 years, the Vosper family have worked the land at Cleavedale Farm, Matamata. The history of their family and farm plays an important role in defining who they are and how they operate. Jersey Girl Organics is committed to sustainability in all that they do, deciding to start their organic journey in 2004.

“We noticed that the way we were farming was requiring more and more inputs to get the same production and that our soil was deteriorating”

Going beyond organics, Jersey Girls look at the bigger picture and like to reuse wherever possible, viewing the concept of a circular economy as the future - with ‘take, make and dispose’ being a thing of the past.

“Our vision is for a brighter, healthier tomorrow for everyone and everything involved with our business and community”

Choosing BioGro as their organic certifier made sense to the dairy producers – not only are they seen as the best certification agency, but it had a lot of grower involvement and support from staff that attracted Jersey Girls to their services.

“The amount of support given to farmers from BioGro is superior to the alternatives”

When The Vospers began their conversion to organics over 15 years ago, the requirements were relatively daunting, especially the process of maintaining an Organic Management Plan. With help from a consultant and a qualified BioGro auditor, this helped them to sleep at night as the process became easier to understand and manage.

“The BioGro team are always there to answer queries around standards and inputs”

Over the years there have been challenges but with support from the team and continued improvements to the certification process, this gets easier every year.

Farming organically does not only allow Jersey Girls to position their milk as a premium product, but they also benefit from more resilience on the farm. With higher soil scores, lower nutrient losses and improvements in animal health and production, they won’t be looking back.
